so exactly what route are you going to take to mongolia?
We have an approximate route planned out for ourselves that we think is going to be a pretty good adventure.
The Mongol Rally doesn't have a set route, and each team can drive any route that they see fit. It's possible to head north through Europe and cross the Arctic Circle in Scandinavia before heading south and east; it's also possible to head southwest through Europe and cross the Strait of Gibraltar to head east through North Africa and the Middle East.
For our route, we have six towns that we're planning to visit along the way, and we've built the route around those towns. We are aiming to pass through Robertsbridge, England (the starting line); Klatovy, Czech Republic (the scene of the Mongol Rally Czechout); Constanța, Romania (for the Mongol Rally Checkpoint); Moscow, Russia (to visit Charla's family); Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (to visit Chase's friend); and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (the finish line).
It will look something like this:

As of now, our route will be taking us through England, France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, back into Kazakhstan, back into Russian, and finally into Mongolia. Of course, we are completely flexible and everything may change on a whim based on which route our newly met friends are driving, rumors of a fun destination we'd never heard of before, or which countries decide to break into civil war. The only guarantee is that the route will be amazing.
